Stalis Area Information
Situated in one of the most beautiful areas with its sandy beaches on the north coast, Malia and Stalis offers the ideal starting point by its central geographical location (30km to the airport and the capital of the island, Heraklion), to discover the whole island.
Stalis or Stalida
Stalis is perfect for relaxed, lazy days on the beach with azure blue waters lapping against the beautiful stretch of golden sand dotted with sunbeds and parasols.
There are plenty of watersports on offer and away from the beach you will find sights such as the Palace of King Minos at Knossos and Heraklion, with its impressive Venetian architecture and imposing castle.
In the evening you can choose to wine and dine in the resort’s wide selection of tavernas and restaurants.

Hersonisos (Limin Hersonissos)
Hersonissos is located 26 km east of Iraklion on the road to Agios Nikolaos.
It keeps the name of the ancient city that was located in the place that the harbour of Hersonissos is today.
Malia
Is a coastal town located 34 km east of Iraklion, following the National Road Iraklion – Agios Nikolaos, built at the bay of the same name.
It is the seat of the municipality of Malia which also includes the villages Mohos, Krassi and the area of Stalis.
The region of Malia is very rich due to its fertile land, its springs of water of excellent quality, both gifts of the mount “SELENA” located south of Malia, its archaeological site, and of course its gorgeous sandy beach, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
